William Terrell, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who has trained and completed two fellowships - a Sports Medicine Fellowship at The Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia and a minor fellowship in AO Trauma with Dr. Harald Tscherne in Hanover, Germany. Subsequent to that, he became a partner at the Hughston Clinic.

He has also had advanced training in limb length and deformity correction. He has travelled to Kurgan, Siberia multiple times to the Ilizarov Institute where the bone lengthening technique was first advanced. Dr. Terrell has been a member of the Limb Lengthening Society (LLRS) for over 20 years. He has lectured nationally and internationally on limb length and deformity correction.

Dr. Terrell was influential in the design of a current hindfoot nail. He was the most experienced consultant of three on a design team for a computerized hex frame. He was selected to perform some of the first Precice lengthening nails. He has performed some of the first Fitbone lengthening nails in the U.S.

He has also performed some of the first Max Frame with Autostruts cases in the U.S. Complex reconstructive cases to include knock knees, bowlegs, bone infection, short leg as well as the multi-operated patient are of particular interest. He is still working on projects to advance the specialty of Limb Length and Deformity Correction. He has been in practice for over 27 years and continues to see general orthopaedics as well as specialized cases.
