MAKO Robotic Arm Assisted Surgery
Mako SmartRobotics™ is designed to assist surgeons during joint replacement surgery. Before the procedure, a CT scan is used to create a 3D model of the joint. Your surgeon uses that model to plan implant size, placement, and positioning.
During surgery, Mako's AccuStop™ haptic technology creates virtual boundaries that help guide the surgeon while preparing the joint for the implant.
Mako does not perform surgery on its own. Your surgeon remains in control throughout the procedure.

Mako's AccuStop™ haptic technology creates virtual boundaries based on the plan, helping your surgeon stay within the intended area while preparing the joint and positioning the implant.
Mako assists your surgeon throughout the procedure. It does not make decisions or perform the surgery on its own.
Q Are There Risks or Complications?
As with any surgery, joint replacement carries potential risks and complications. Mako technology does not eliminate the risks associated with joint replacement surgery.
